Caledonian Road Trip.

Good afternoon folks

I trust this finds you all well & enjoying the fantastic weather.
Is it really March??? I’m not complaining at all.
Team had a wee trip “Up the Road” last week.
The aim was to give The Silver Streak a good run out, to test out some new camping gear/gadgets & to see as much of the Highlands as we could, in the space of 5 days.

It was an absolutely amazing trip, I’d never been further north than Dundonnell & Lina had never been to Scotland before!
We headed up through Northumbria, sped through Edinburgh, camped at Crieff. Then on to John O’Groats, camping at nearby Melvich. After a frosty night, we navigated the NW Coast, through the spectacular scenery of Sutherland (just time for a quick “Top Tips” video there), then down through Wester Ross, camping at Applecross.
Rewarded with spectacular views across to the Cullin Ridge, we headed south, through Fort Bill, to Glasgow & then for Haggis & Chips at Largs, before one final push (running on fumes) to Dumfries, a quick skip down the M6 to The Lakes. An overnight stop, Fish & Chips (our last until after Mongolia we both vowed) & back across to sunny Leeds.
1433 miles & The Silver Streak loved every minute of it, as we did too :-)

Here are a few pics on our Picasa site, for your perusal & enjoyment.

107 days to go…

Johnny & Lina
